   FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

Q: What is Naturopathic Medicine?
A: Naturopathic Medicine treats disease by restoring health using nutrition, botanicals, homeopathy, and lifestyle changes. Rather than just treating one symptom, Naturopathic Physicians strive to balance the whole body. Licensed Naturopaths complete a 4 year medical training with 2 years of clinic experience. During that time, they are trained in the best of both conventional medicine and alternative medicine. With an understanding of both, your Naturopathic Physician can provide you with individualized, effective, and gentle health care.

Q: Do you take insurance?
A: Physician's Choice does not process insurance claims. We will provide you with the forms necessary for submiting a claim to your insurance company. Some insurance companies will cover Naturopathic treatment. Check with your provider to see if your visit will be covered.

Q: What can I expect from an office visit?
A: When you visit Physician's Choice, you can expect to begin with an in depth discussion. Your Naturopath will take and extensive history of your health. By evaluating your overall health, we can personalize your care to best suit your needs. Your Naturopath will work with you in order to: treat the cause of your condition, prevent future health problems, educate you about your health concerns, and find the most natural, non-invasive treatments possible for you. Your treatment plan is likely to include lifestyle changes as well as dietary supplements that will support your body as you heal.

Q: Are herbs and supplements really safe?
A: Naturopathic Physicians have been trained extensively in the use of herbal medicine and nutritional supplements. Many herbal remedies have been used for hundreds, even thousands of years. This training includes an understanding of how to safely and effectively use botanical medicine and nutritional supplements. Not all supplements are right for everyone. That is why it is important to consult a Naturopath before trying new products. Each person is evaluated on a case by case basis. Naturopathic Medicine strives, above all, to do no harm.

Q: I don't have time to get into your office for an appointment but I have some questions. Can you talk to me over the phone?
A: Physician's Choice offers phone consults. Contact our office if you would like to make an appointment for a phone consult. If you prefer e-mail, you will find an online consultation icon at the top of the webpage.
